Private Banking

When I joined Scotiabank in 2015, I began in the Small Business segment and was an Advisor and Relationship Manager for seven years. Then I transitioned to Private Banking, where I’m currently a Senior Associate Private Banker.

My primary responsibility is to provide efficient and accurate service while supporting the Private Bankers as they advise their clients. With every customer interaction, I commit to offering “white glove service,” which includes prompt responses to questions or concerns that our clients may have. I also coach my associate team and continually promote the need to deliver the type of elevated experience that Private Banking clients expect and deserve.

Going above and beyond is woven into the fabric of my client service model. Having worked in customer service for 20 years, I enjoy the challenge of curating a rewarding experience where clients can focus on their own lives and trust that I will execute every task efficiently and accurately.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) in Communication, with a minor in Business/Marketing from Ontario Tech University (formerly known as UOIT).

Jack Lin

I’ve had a strong focus on the private banking segment for much of my career in the financial services industry. Before joining Scotia Wealth Management in my current role as a Private Banker, I spent 13 years working at a large multinational bank, with seven of those years dedicated to private banking clientele.

Given my deep background in meeting the unique needs of high-net-worth clients, in 2018 I was recognized with an award for achieving the top 1% of business performance among my peers worldwide. I have built extensive relationships within the private banking market, which has expanded my industry knowledge while providing me with a strong network of specialists I can call on to offer professional support to help my clients reach their financial goals.

Over the years, clients have been drawn to my financial expertise and strong customer service focus, plus my fluency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese allows me to communicate effectively with a broad range of clients.

Academically, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto. In my spare time, you can find me cheering for the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Yankees or traveling abroad and experiencing different cultures.

After spending four years at a major international bank, I joined Scotiabank in 2012 as a financial advisor within the retail segment. In 2017, I transitioned to Private Banking.

Given my 15+ years in financial services, I can provide investing and credit advice to my clients. My background in lending allows me to understand complex ownership structures and create innovative lending solutions. I also use strategic leveraging to empower clients to seize time-sensitive opportunities without needing to sell existing holdings.

I’m resolutely focused on helping my clients succeed. I believe the key to keeping clients satisfied is to put their interests first and add value for them. My fluency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese means I can often communicate with clients in a language with which they’re most comfortable.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Melbourne (Australia) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Beijing Normal University. I hold the Certified Financial Planner designation.
